Really enjoyed my experience at Tonchin in Williamsburg. The space has a modern, stylish feel while still being warm and inviting, and the atmosphere works just as well for a casual dinner as it does for a date night. The ramen was the highlight—rich, flavorful broth, perfectly cooked noodles, and everything felt very well balanced rather than overly heavy. You can tell a lot of attention goes into both the ingredients and presentation. The portions were satisfying, and the whole meal felt comforting without being too much. Williamsburg has so many great food options, but Tonchin definitely stands out if you’re in the mood for ramen. I’d happily come back again and try more of the menu next time.

Food, vibe and service were all great! We visited on a Sunday afternoon with no reservations and our party of 6 was luckily seated pretty quickly. The food was delicious, I got the summer special and my friends got ramen. They loved the ramen and I look forward to trying that next time. The star of the show was the mango shaved iced. We absolutely lovedddd it! The perfect summer treat after a long hot day. Would definitely visit again!

Solid ramen spot for non vegetarians. As a vegetarian you are only limited to one ramen which makes sense given the famous tonkotsu. But the spicy miso veggie ramen was delicious with great choices of toppings and flavorful broth. The best part was the roasted potato and the matcha cocktail. The vibe was intimate and nice. I don’t think I will come back given the price but an amazing spot for date night.

What a treat to come here! We didn’t make a reservation so it was a bit of a wait (1 hour at 7:30pm on a Sunday), but once we got in everything was smooth. Hayley helped us out and we got our food super quickly! I got the classic tonkotsu ramen and I liked how clean the broth tasted. The meat was also super tender and not too fatty compared to a lot of pork that’s in tonkotsu. We also thoroughly enjoyed the mango kakigori. The atmosphere was dark and moody with candles at each table. We were a party of 4 and I think that’s the max amount you could probably fit at their table options. Would def come back!

I visited TONCHIN Brooklyn on April 7 at 12:30 PM, while the food was genuinely good, the overall experience was disappointing. We were the only table in the restaurant, but service was almost nonexistent. After our food was dropped off, no one checked in on us, asked how everything was, or even offered if we need more water. The BIGGEST issue was the bill. We ordered TWO ramen bowls and ONE lunch combo, but we were incorrectly charged for THREE lunch combos. The spicy tan tan should have been $23, but we were charged $29, and the Tokyo Classic should have been $22, but we were charged $28. (See pic for reference) We only caught it by carefully reviewing the receipt. After we pointed it out, it took nearly ten minutes to correct, with no apology, and a 21% tip was added without asking again. For a restaurant with a Michelin recommendation, this was very disappointing. The food is worth trying, but the service and billing accuracy need serious, SERIOUS improvement.
